Nova Natie – Safety Cabins

Nova Natie – Safety Cabins

Challenge

Nova Natie, a well-established logistics company in the Port of Antwerp, approached us with a clear request: “Can you create two fully compliant safety cabins from a single shipping container?”

Euhm… “Of course we can.”

Following an in-depth discussion and analysis, we immediately got to work. The new safety cabins needed to be built in line with CEPA recommendations and delivered within a short timeframe.

Solution

We successfully transformed a single 20ft shipping container into two mobile safety cabins. After a thorough design phase and close coordination with the client, we delivered the project within 4.5 weeks.

Project specifications

  • Base: 1 repurposed 20ft shipping container
  • Access: Open-side entry for easy accessibility
  • Visibility: Transparent panels on three sides (plexiglass)
  • Interior:
    • Seating and storage bench made from recycled container flooring
    • Space for storing helmets, high-visibility jackets, and work tools
    • Option to rest during breaks
  • Mobility: Forklift slots for effortless relocation
  • Safety: Fluorescent markings in compliance with safety regulations
  • Finish: Bright yellow color for maximum visibility

Result

The safety cabins fully comply with strict safety standards while providing a comfortable and practical workspace for terminal personnel. With a sustainable design and efficient use of materials, this project enhances both safety and environmental responsibility.

Nova Natie now has efficient, mobile safety cabins that seamlessly integrate into their operational needs.
